The Little Things can make a Big Difference

“Road Deaths caused by the Fatal Five cause devastating consequences; not only on those involved in the collision, but also on the wider circle of family and friends. They are all choices and if everyone chose to drive safely, to make safety a choice not a chance, then we could see less tragedy on our roads”

Teresa Ciano, GoSafe Partnership Manager

On a daily basis, GoSafe Casualty Reduction Officers target three of the Fatal Five elements. By encouraging compliance with the speed limit, wearing your seatbelt and not using your mobile phone whilst driving we work daily to make our roads safer. By driving safely not only will you be contributing to the safety of our roads but you will also avoid receiving any kind of fine or penalty.

On the fourth day of Project EDWARD’s week of action, North Wales Police will be targeting motorists who use their mobile phones and don’t wear a seatbelt when driving. These are little things we can all do, which can make a big difference to the safety of all road users.

Dyfed-Powys Police will once again be at Primary Schools across the force, encouraging compliance with the 20mph speed limit to help keep vulnerable road users safe on their journey to and from school.

Gwent Police will be visiting the Crosskeys Campus of Coleg Gwent delivering presentations to the students, highlighting the dangers of poor driving / making the safe choices when getting in a vehicle.

So, when travelling along the roads of Wales today, tomorrow, next week, next month… always think about the little things you could do to make yourself and others safer on our roads.
